“Three Boys and a Girl”
This exhibition is a showcase of four friends,
coming together to showcase their fresh
stances on the world in a variety of
mediums. The three boys are Joel Burton,
Mhlonishwa Chiliza, Dane Knudsen, and
the girl, Karla Nixon.
“We chose this theme for its sheer simplicity. We
are not
artists of conformity and would like to express conceptual messages,
through our work, and understand the phrase of less is more.
artists of conformity and would like to express conceptual messages,

With the terms "boys" and "girl"
it exudes the innocence that we are
trying to capture as fresh artists, who are literally kids in the art
fraternity, trying to make headway in the industry while
simultaneously exploring our passion.

The title excited us as we are virtually
unknowns,
and the exhibition will allow viewers to put a name to the face and
find out who the boys and the girl really are.”

“Back Home”
"Back Home"
is a contemporary exhibition of selected, established artists that have
travelled nationally and internationally in their artistic journey. The
exhibition explores
the artists’ emotional reality, experiences and
interpretations of returning home. The
artists are invited to identify with the
cultures, values, people and places that have
shaped them and their
relationships with others. "Back Home" can be interpreted in
many
ways, bringing together a myriad of related subject matter. It also offers the
artists a chance to interrogate the environment in which their initial passion
for art
started and provides them with a site in which to humbly bring home the
fruit of their work.
Some of the
participating
artists are Witty Nyide, Clive Sithole, Yvette Dunn and
Bongumenzi Ngobese.
