“SCAN - ART DURBAN” – curated by Heather Pattenden – Middle Gallery

This is an open call to all who want to explore digital scanning as 

an alternative to traditional photography. During this exhibition we 

will be exploring the possibilities of the scanned medium. The 

exhibition will take place in the middle gallery of artSPACE durban 

from the 16th September - 5th October 2013. 

To take part all you need to do is pay a R20 entry fee, have 

access to a digital scanner and a creative mind! No digital 

enhancing of the scanned image is allowed...what the scanner 

scans is what we want to see! Get creative and scan 

unusual/interesting objects, your body, scan outdoors or indoors, 

in darkness or light or even have your cat walk across the 

scanner, let your imagination go wild! A digital scanner is 

available for use at artSPACE durban... so come on into the 

gallery and scan away! 

Once you have scanned your image, save it to your flash drive 

and get it developed into an A4 size photograph (this is at your 

own expense). The submission date for all scanned images is the 

14th September at artSPACE durban from 9am-2pm.
